It is the same armrest as it can be ordered from the factory as a surcharge extra with the new car. You will receive an original Volkswagen retrofit kit with all parts necessary for the retrofit .

Sliding cover? Storage compartment?

The lid can bepushed forward about 10 cm   = useful when the car seat is pushed forward .

The lid can also be opened, giving access to a large velvet-lined storage compartment.

The storage compartment is approximately 11 cm wide and up to 18 cm deep.

Self-assembly possible?

The backrest is delivered with all parts. Common hand tools are required. No drilling required.

How is the assembly done?

The small compartment at the rear end of the center console is taken out, because there the armrest is attached to the existing attachment points with the vehicle.

Thus high stability and thus a big plus point compared to many accessory armrests.

By the way, a later dismantling of the armrest would be possible without residue.

Is the retrofit also possible in my Ibiza / Arona / Polo?

Yes, in all variants of Ibiza + Arona (type KJ/6F) + Polo (type 2G/AW) the mounting points for the armrest are already standard, so in these all vehicles the backrest can be retrofitted to fit exactly.
